GRAF ANNUAL CONFERENCE: ERADICATING ILLEGAL GAMBLING MAY 10, 2017
The 13th annual GRAF conference, in Mbombela (Nelspruit), South Africa has just concluded; this is the event that brings together the representatives of the main African Gaming Boards to discuss Gaming sector regulation and jointly develop initiatives for promotion and protection against illegal gaming.
iSolutions looked forward to attending this forum, which this year is focused on problems relating to illegal gaming: addition, social responsibility and impact of technology.
Currently, the member states of GRAF are Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe, but in order to improve operations in the African area (especially Sub-Saharan), the forum has promoted the creation of local committees (sub-committees) with direct competences and power in respect of education, training, technology and illegal betting.
Faced with the expansion of the gaming market all over the continent, the GRAF aims to protect the community and its citizens by promoting regulations shared by all the member states. The 2017 conference has stressed this direction by choosing as main theme “Eradicating illegal gambling on the Africa Continent”. As iSolutions operates also in Africa, a knowledge of local situations and regulations is an essential strategic instrument: our participation at GRAF was a fundamental moment of reflection and a basis for stronger expansion of the company's business.
